During the times of Peshwas, Shaniwar Wada was the centre of Maratha Kingdom.

The Shaniwar Wada is now surrounded by concrete jungle while in olden days it’s glory increased due to the natural beauty surrounding it.

Parvati Temple was build during the Peshwa dynasty.
By looking at the photographs from this century and the previous century we can easily note that the Pune city had a good amount of trees as compared to now a days.
3. The Mula-Mutha River


In the old photograph of the river , the river is clean and clear with a ferry boat and the other photogrph of the river these days is polluted and there is no chance of having a ferry boat in it!

The Mahatma Phule Mandai (Market) started in year 1882, is the biggest vegetable market in Pune having 8 wings and one central tower.
5. The shopping centre- Lakshmi Road


Lakshmi Road is a shopping centre of Pune with hundreds of shops.
One can just dream to see the Lakshmi Road as it was some years back. Now a days one cannot find place to walk.

The population was very less and the needs of the people were also very less. They were living a happy and smooth life.
But now a days everything has become opposite. Population has incressed followed by traffic jams. There is more stress and less happiness in people’s life.
■ Even today it is possible to live and enjoy the life and make our Pune City as it was THEN and stop living the stressed life that we are living NOW!
So let’s give a look to the Pune City which it had a few years back and make it a more beautiful city.
